Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actor who is employed in TV and film is well known for movies such as Rush and Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. The only child of Romanian actors Valentin Platareu, Alexandra started her showbiz career from a young age. By the time she reached the age of 16years old, Alexandra was able to land the leading roles in numerous shows on television. Her critically acclaimed role in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for many other noteworthy roles, including that of Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge from the commercially and critically popular Oscar nominated war-time drama film Downfall. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were also nominated for Oscars. Alexandra is associated with numerous notable projects, both nationally and internationally. Some of these include the British biographical film Control, the Greek movie The Dust of Time, and the French historic miniseries Napoleon. In addition, she has been a juror at the Transylvania International Film Festival as well as the Cannes Film Festival.
