In 2017, Bea wrote an essay for The Guardian about the suicide of her father's relatives and took on the stage name Bea in tribute. Bea's mother Helen She is a jockey-trainer and former pro jockey, was the one responsible for the care of her daughter and Sinead. Her parents were obsessed by racing and horses. As a young girl, Bea was an instructor for the Irish National Stud however she realized at an early age that she wasn't attracted to the race industry as a job, and was a performer.
